Purpose

As I look at this blue heart shaped paper weight I wonder, why someone made this. It being made for the purpose to hold down papers is obvious, but why did they choose to make it a blue heart. Perhaps it’s a metaphor of how the creator of the paper weight felt at the time? When somebody says they feel blue it usually means that they are very sad or gloomy, so maybe the creator was expressing their feelings by making the paper weight a blue, heavy heart? Or the creator may have been thinking of something completely different? Perhaps they were expressing their love for the color blue, or maybe a love for the ocean? Whether it was made for a greater reason or with no explanation at all, it is still interesting to wonder about.
