Ear Plugs Please

Throughout all of history people have expressed emotions and ideas through music. And generally all forms of music took instrumental or vocal talents. However, most music today now seems to have no talent, or meaning in any way. It appears that people have lost their interests in actual human ability, and thoughtful lyrics. I personally am a huge fan of 60’s and 70’s rock and I know only a minority of people who listen to it too. I honestly can’t make sense of why people listen to new music like rap and hip hop. It’s mostly computerized beats that don’t require the artists to have any talent to put in their songs, unlike instruments. A huge amount of current artists don’t even use their own voices, instead they have a computer change the sound of their voice to make it actually appealing. I know people who have seen Black Eyed Peas and Nikki Minaj concerts, and said how terrible they are, which is because in concerts they sing with their own awful voices and don’t use auto tune. Pink Floyd’s album “Dark side of the Moon” was on the top 500 charts for 741 weeks, more than any other album made in history. The Doors debut album was recorded in a mere 5 days, and one of their most famous songs “The End” took only one try to record, the recording had no re-do’s or over dubs. Present day artists don’t even make albums that much. It seems that they don’t have the creative capability to make a long concept piece, and only release singles in a desire for quick money. Although I hope rock is not dead, it has definitely been replaced as what’s considered main stream by a terrible excuse for music.
